Help Portrait, success 2 years in a row!

After a couple of months of organization, Help Portrait 2010 was another success yesterday. More than 100 volunteers in 3 locations in Edmonton and 1 in Spruce Grove made it possible for more than 350 people to get a professional portrait taken and printed just in time for this Holliday Season.

It was an amazing day full of stories and emotions.  A lot of people came back for the second time, and I even found out about one woman that went to 2 locations! For some people this was the first time ever in front of a camera. Others would finally have the opportunity to send a photo to their family, or to have a photo with their children.

I can't express how thankful I am with all the volunteers that committed their Saturday to this event. But I can tell you that after giving a portrait to one of those people, and seeing their eyes in tears, all the work, time and effort was so worth it!

Help Portrait. Dec 4, 2010

One year ago, I decided to join a movement of photographers using their time, gear and expertise to give back to those in need, the name: Help Portrait.

I read about this in one of the blogs I followed and got very interested. I joined the community and looked for people in Edmonton that were already organizing something, it turned out there was no one. So, I thought about it for a second and decided to take the initiative and leadership to start something in the city. 

The results were way better than what I had originally planned for, it was a success. So, this year, here it is again. On December 4, 2010 from 10 am to 5 pm, we'll have Help Portrait in 3 locations in Edmonton and 1 in Spruce Grove. This time, there's even a website where you can volunteer or direct people that want to attend the event. help-portrait.ca

We still need a lot of help, a lot of hands, resources and promotion. If you can help with any of these, please contact me or join us in Facebook and ask the community.

This will be another amazing experience, I'm really excited to be part of, and will keep you posted!

Aerosmith 40th Anniversary concert

This one is just for fun. Last September 14, Aerosmith came to Edmonton in their 40th Anniversary Tour. I'm a big fan and didn't want to miss it. Here are some of the shots that I took.

I loved specially this one, when they played "I don't want to miss a thing" with the video from Armageddon.

Meagan & Michael

I had so much fun shooting this wedding a couple of weeks ago. Meagan and Michael were terrific and made all their guests (including us) have an amazing time. This is just a sneak peak of their photos. 

Pao & Ivan. A Mexican Wedding!

This is one of the most unique weddings that I have ever attended and photographed. Pao & Ivan are an amazing couple that wanted to have a very mexican wedding and achieved something unforgettable for all their guests.

I hope you like the photos as much as I do. Thanks to both Pao and Ivan for giving us such an amazing experience!!! It was definitely awesome!!!
